Close minded

Today I had a run in with a very close minded person.  I cant remember to a time when I felt the way I did, when we started going back and forth over an issue.  It was weird. I almost felt above the whole dang argument. Then I realized the saying. "Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience." That pretty much sums it all up.  I was actually told to get out of the small town and experience the issue out in the real world and I would feel differently. WOW  I needed to get out! First I will never condone anyone being oppressed, made fun or called names simply because of what they look like or the situation they were born into. Second I think you need to experience the real world and open up your closed minded, homophobic, racist self. Halfway through I sat in silence while they tried to over talk and bully me into their idea of the truth. Whatever, I said. Lets just agree to disagree. I will let you learn the lesson for yourself. If you never change or learn you will be the one who missed out.
